Makers House will be returning once more to show alongside some of South London’s most talented designers with South East Makers Club.

From 13-15th September SEMC will take over Deptford to celebrate South London’s creativity. The programme is packed full of fantastic events and workshops however to give you a helping hand we have listed our top picks for the weekend (aside from our show obviously!)

Top Pick for Makers;

Saturday 14th September 2-4pm; Product photography workshop with Yeshen Venema, this is a fantastic opportunity to get some top tips from a brilliant product photographer. Get tips on how to use your kit and how to get the best out of your products.

Get making;

There are lots of opportunities for visitors to get involved with SEMC this year with workshops ranging from weaving to riso printing and even an orienteering challenge around Deptford.

We can’t wait to get to grips with one of our favourite printing processes in a riso printing workshop hosted by IYA studio and Pagemasters.

Get thinking;

One of the programme highlights from this year’s show is an active conversation on Friday 13th September from 4pm. At Makers House we feel passionately about passing on knowledge and ensuring that the door is open to makers from all backgrounds, which is why we are really excited that the issues surrounding creative poverty and diversity within the design industry are being highlighted as part of an international festival.

With an amazing line up of panelists this is set to be the start of a bigger project and hopefully the beginning of further collaboration within Deptford communities.

This is a very brief round up from a very full festival programme so if you are planning to visit make sure you head to the South East Makers Club website first to make sure you can visit all of the exhibitors and support small businesses in South London.

Have fun(!);

The infamous South East Makers Club pub quiz returns this year, hosted in Villages brewery expect a design themed quiz, with making rounds and a chance to show off your design knowledge. Tickets are free but booking is essential so book your ticket now!
